How do I add an expense?
Open a group and choose Add expense. Say what it was for and how much, who paid and who shares it, then save. Everyone in the group sees it in the group's Activity.
How can an expense be split?
Four ways, chosen on the expense form:
- Equal: everyone you pick pays the same.
- Exact: you type each person's amount.
- Percent: you type each person's percentage.
- Shares: you give each person a number of shares, for example 2 for someone who had two portions.
How do I settle up?
The Balances tab of a group shows who owes whom, separately for each currency. When someone pays someone back, choose Record payment there. tabtada only keeps the record: it does not hold money or move it.
Can I import my groups from Splitwise?
Yes, from a file. In Splitwise, open a group and choose Export as spreadsheet. In tabtada, choose Import from a file on your home page and pick that file (up to 1 MB). You see a preview and say who is who before anything is created.
What happens when I am offline?
Pages you have already opened stay readable, marked as showing older data. An expense or a payment you add without a connection is saved on the phone and sent when you are back online; if the server then refuses it, you are told. The privacy policy lists what is kept on your device. Privacy policy
How do I delete my account or get my data?
Both are on your Account page, after you sign in: Download your data gives you a file of what tabtada holds about you, and Delete your account removes it. You confirm with your password. The privacy policy says what happens to your data.
