Terms of use
Effective: [[ OWNER: effective date ]]
1. Who provides the service
tabtada is provided by: [[ OWNER: name of the person or company providing the service ]], [[ OWNER: address ]], [[ OWNER: legal form and registration number, if any ]]. Contact: [email protected].
2. What tabtada is
tabtada records shared expenses in a group and works out who owes whom. It does not hold money, take or make payments, or give financial, tax or legal advice. Balances are records entered by the group's members: keep them correct, because the app only adds up what it is given.
3. Your account
- Give a real email address you can read and keep your password secret. You are responsible for what is done from your account.
- One account is one person.
- You must be at least [[ OWNER: confirm the minimum age, e.g. 16 ]] years old to use the service.
- You can delete your account at any time on the account page. What happens to your data then is described in the Privacy policy.
4. Groups and content
- What you enter in a group (names, expenses, descriptions, people's names) is visible to its members. Enter only what you are happy to share with them.
- Add people you know and who are meant to settle up in the group. Give an email address only if you have reason to think they will welcome the invitation. The invitation tells them how their data is used and links to an objection, which we honour.
- Your content remains yours. You give us the right to store it and show it to the group's members as far as running the service needs.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use the service for anything unlawful, or to send unwanted messages through invitations.
- Do not try to get around its protections or limits, put more load on it than ordinary use, or reach other people's data.
- We may restrict or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
6. Availability and changes to the service
We try to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change or end the service; where we can, we will tell you beforehand. Until then you can download your data from the account page.
7. Liability
[[ OWNER: liability clause suited to the governing law; a lawyer must review it ]] Rules that cannot be excluded, including consumers' statutory rights, are not affected.
8. Governing law
[[ OWNER: governing law and courts ]] If you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country.
9. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms materially we will change the effective date and, where the change affects you, tell you.
